Terms

Terms of use, what this site is, in plain words

Last updated September 2026. The substance of these terms is one sentence: we publish research and make introductions, and the work is done by somebody else under an agreement you make with them.

The Arrangement

What we provide

Siding Pros USA publishes information about residential siding and connects homeowners with independent contractors that repair and replace it. We are not a contractor, we perform no work, we supply no materials, and we are not party to any agreement you enter into with a company we introduce you to.

We are paid a referral fee by that company. The fee does not vary with the size of the job and does not change what you pay.

Limits

What the information here is and is not

Everything published on this site is general information about how siding materials behave and what damage usually indicates. It is not an inspection of your house, not an engineering assessment, and not a substitute for measurements taken at your property by somebody qualified to take them.

Where we describe federal rules, on lead paint, asbestos or contractor practice, we describe them as they applied when the page was written, and we cite the agency so you can check the current position yourself. Rules change; our publication date is on the page for that reason.

Nothing here is legal advice, and nothing here is a safety instruction for work we have told you not to attempt. Where we say a task is a certified contractor's, that is the recommendation, and choosing otherwise is your decision and your risk.

The Work Itself

Independent companies

Companies we connect you with are independent businesses. They set their own prices, hold their own licenses and insurance, and are responsible for their own work. Verifying licensing and insurance before work starts is worth the two minutes it takes, and any legitimate company expects to be asked.

Questions about these terms go through contact. How we make money is set out in full on about.

Before you call anyone

The flat-fee match — we are paid for the introduction, not for the size of your job

Most siding advice is written by the company that wants to do the work or the company that makes the product. That is not a failing of the people who read it; it is a defect in who is talking: the measurement, the estimate and the invoice come from one party, and no amount of care on your side fixes that.

We are built the other way round. We do not install, repair or sell anything, so the payment reaches us when you are connected to a licensed, insured siding contractor — the same amount whether you need one panel replaced or four walls re-clad. Nobody here has a reason to talk you into the larger number. You can check that rather than take it on trust: how we make money is written down, and this site keeps telling readers when one wall is enough. Why does not everyone work this way? Because a flat fee leaves money on the table every time the job turns out to be big.

Waiting is the one thing that actually costs money. A wall that is open to the weather does not get better and does not wait for a convenient week; the water that gets behind the siding finds the sheathing, the framing and the drywall inside. A cracked panel over a window lets the next storm in. And if it turns out to be one panel and a quarter-hour, say so when you ask. We will tell you, and that answer earns us nothing.

Not for you if: you want a price over the phone — nobody honest gives one without measuring the house; you need a guarantee of arrival within the hour — we cannot promise that for a company we do not run; the building is commercial; or you would rather do it yourself, in which case the pages on this site are written so that you can.

Advertising disclosure: Siding Pros USA is a free referral and connection service for U.S. homeowners, not a siding contractor. We do not perform, supervise or guarantee any work. When you ask for an introduction, you are connected with an independent siding contractor in your area, and we may receive a fixed fee for the introduction. That fee does not change with the size of your job and does not affect what you pay. Licensing and insurance are the contractor's own: ask for proof of both before you sign.
